Pseudognaphalium microcephalum, a dicot, is a perennial herb that is native to California. It’s bloom period is July-October.

not 100% sure about this ID. Not in the Calflora ID list of Griffith park. Also blooming in different months than according to when Calflora says the bloom period is.
